Taliesin Students Paint The Town

As part of a community revitalization effort called “Paint the Town,” Bullion Plaza Cultural Center & Museum and Globe-Miami businesses hosted students from The School of Architecture at Taliesin, formerly Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture, to facilitate an ambitious and creative outdoor mural project.

Over two days, April 29th and 30th 2016, public spaces were transformed with beautiful large paintings on sides of buildings, meant to beckon and welcome visitors driving along Route 60. 150-plus volunteers from the architecture school and the Globe-Miami area assisted. The architecture students and their instructors researched, completed and documented the murals and approved buildings with visual maps written materials detailing project goals and outcomes.

On January 21st 2017, School of Architecture at Taliesin students visited Bullion Plaza Cultural Center & Museum for a meet and greet about thus and other projects. An accompanying exhibit can be viewed at Bullion Plaza Cultural Center & Museum just off the lobby. The display includes Taliesin’s related community-oriented projects, such as “Off 66,” a look at the state of former-boomtown architecture and community near the famous highway.
